thought two

thought of the day:

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us."

she has nice hair...

Oh, how I long for luscious locks like these lovelies.

 Off to QLD tomorrow, woo!
Looking forward to actually having a hot & sunny day as opposed to Melbourne's poor excuse for a Summer this year.

P.S. Lauren Phillips (2nd from top) is amazingly pretty!

holographic

Today I got my very first professional manicure. It was great! I love the polish that I chose and it was actually very relaxing in a funny way to sit there and have someone else tend to my nails.

They had SO many colours to choose from and initially I thought I was going to have a really hard time finding the perfect one but as I was scanning through the wall of polishes I came across this absolute gem - OPI Designer Series Shimmer.
OK, so I know I don't have the most photogenic fingers (I don't think I'll ever be a hand model) but all that aside, the thing I like most about this polish is that without direct light on the nails, it looks just like a subtle silver polish BUT as soon as some sunlight or direct light shines on the nails they turn holographic! I personally think it looks amazing, I can't stop admiring my nails. The photo doesn't really do it justice, you have to see it in the flesh to really appreciate the glitteryness of it all.

I have a wedding next weekend and I am going back next Friday for another mani, which I can't wait for! Just have to choose a colour from the millions that are there that will match my dress. I bought this beautiful maxi dress from Forever New. Its a bit hard to explain but I'll try, its a floral design, kimono style on top with a waist tie under the bust and flowy sleeves. Its very neutral/nude in colours but it is SO lovely. Plus I was most excited that I was able to find some shoes that match PERFECTLY from Temt and an absolute steal at $45. I really didn't spend any of my own money because I had gift vouchers from Xmas left over which was great seeing as I am currently unemployed and quickly running out of mulla!

Ok, time to get ready for beddie pies.

i suck at blogging (redemption post)

I'm just going to put it out there.

I genuinely suck at blogging.
S.U.C.K - it has to be written in capitals. It's funny because sometimes I'll be on my laptop looking at random things and I'll get a light bulb moment where I'm like "Oh, that would be awesome to put in a blog post" or "I should totes do some right clicking/saving for my blog" (by the way I never say totes, I actually don't really like that word at all - no idea why I just used it!) but it never happens.

Sometimes I think my mind thinks too quickly, like I have way too many thought processes going on at the one time that my mind can't focus on one single thing and therefore I "forget" things. Is there some kind of medical term for that? "toomanythoughtsitis" that's what it should be called.

Ha, I think I'm a bit nutty at this time of the morning. I've been up since 5:00am, how exciting! NOT! And it would seem that for whatever reason my body didn't want to go back to sleep when it woke up at this terrible hour. There is nothing worse than lying in bed trying to get back to sleep without any luck, its like those babies toys where you have to put the shapes (circle, square, star) into the rightly shaped hole in the box or ball.

OK, so that was a horrible attempt at describing the toy I am talking about so I found a picture instead!!!

source: google images

Yes, so anyway, trying to fall back asleep without success is like trying to make the square shape fit into the circle hole - its NOT going to HAPPEN! Ever! (Unless your one crafty baby who can somehow manipulate plastic shapes - unlikely though, right?)

So there. I am awake. More awake than I would have been at say 8am. Weird, I know.

Well, this is the longest post I have ever written. I'm going to make this my redemption post. I hope I have redeemed myself.

ASOS

After reading the Vogue forums and seeing everyones comments about it, I was intruiged to see what http://www.asos.com/ was like.

After visiting the site and only 1 purchase later, I have come to the conclusion that I am totally in love with Asos. Not only do they have an absoultely AMAZING range of EVERYTHING, they also seem to update their sale stock regularly and its all so affordable! Plus, they always have promo codes for discounts such as 20% off, free shipping etc. It is truely the greatest online shopping destination (I think so anyway)!

I told my sister about it and she has become quickly addicted too, along with all the girls she works with.

In so many ways its a great thing, but in other ways not so great for my bank account!

I am on the hunt for a dress for a wedding I have coming up in February. I found this perfect Ted Baker one....but it doesn't ship to Australia (massive sad face).

I think it is the most beautiful dress. I am so sad it doesn't ship here because I would buy it in a heartbeat. The colour is just amazing.

The great thing about Asos is they offer a range of sizes too. They have a Petite range and a Curve range. I think this is great for everyone because there aren't many places that offer this kind of variety. Usually its the standard sizes and not everyone always fits this so I think its a wonderful idea.

Thumbs up for Asos!

This is what I purchased from the site about 2 weeks ago, the shipping was great too - only $18 AUS which is rare to find.
In total, the dress & bikini cost me around $50 AUS which I think is great! I definately recommend buying from Asos. Its so worth it!

smile :)

I can't wait for summer. today was such a beautiful day, the sun was shining and it was actually a nice temperature. people were scattered along the beach, families with young children, couples with their dogs. it just makes me want summer to come NOW!
tomorrow is Monday (booooo). I think Monday has to be the worst day of the week for sure. I always suffer a small bout of "end of the weekend" sadness around this time on a Sunday.
Ahhhhh well, at least the pics make me happy.

thought one

thought of the day:

"as we grow up we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to let us down, probably will.

you'll have your heartbroken, probably more than once, & its harder every time.

you'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when someone broke yours.

you'll fight with your best friend and maybe even fall in love with them.

you'll blame a new love for things an old one did.

you'll cry because time is passing too fast and you'll eventually lose someone close to you.

so.....take too many pictures, laugh too much & love like you've never been hurt

because

every 60 seconds you spend angry or upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back."
